Dr. Marcus Köny
CTOCTO of Ilara GmbH. One of his PhD topics was the interoperability of medical devices. He was significantly involved in the technical development of the SDC standard from the very beginning.
Ilara is founding member of OR.NET e.V. The shareholders, two of the initiators of SDC, are board members.
OR.NET e.V. brings together players from industry, hospitals and research to jointly realize the openly networked operating room of the future.
The standards of the IEEE 11073 SDC family were significantly developed in the course of the BMBF-funded research project OR.NET (and several predecessor projects). The development was carried out with the involvement of all stakeholders: Medical device manufacturers, physicians, hospital operators, research, standardization and certification bodies. After completion of the project, the non-profit association, OR.NET e.V., was founded.
Our vision is to establish a secure and dynamic device-to-device communication with modern information and communication technology. In this case, medical devices are automatically recognized and integrated by the device network in the operating room via plug-and-play.
